Fantaghirò 2 or Cave of the Golden Rose 2 is the second movie in the Fantaghirò series. It was released in 1992. The story is about the evil Dark Witch's attempts to destroy Fantaghirò and Romualdo's great love for each other. Introduction: "Once upon a time and a long time ago there was a queen. Fantaghiro and Romualdo are preparing their marriage when the Black Queen disgusted by their deep love captures Fantaghiro's father. Romualdo and his soldiers go on their journey to free him. But the insidious Black Queen transforms herself into Fantaghiro, makes Romualdo her slave by kissing him and captures the rest of his army. Fantaghiro follows Romualdo although she promised him to stay home, finds the camp deserted and enters the near castle of the Black Queen. When she asks for a duel to free her people she is very surprised to face Romualdo who has forgot her completely due to the magic of the Black Queen.

The Black Witch (Brigitte Nielsen) is a major character in the Fantaghirò series. She is the main villain of the 1992 Italian fantasy TV film Fantaghiro 2 (also known as The Cave of the Golden Rose 2) and then returns as a supporting character in the 1993 film Fantaghiro 3 and the 1994 film Fantaghiro 4. She then comes back briefly as a different character in the 1996 film, Fantaghiro 5. Each of the films is divided into two parts. The Black Witch is also known as the Dark Witch, the Black Queen

De jonge koningin Fantaghir[KA2]o (Martines) is bereid de wapens neer te leggen in ruil voor de liefde en een huwelijk met de jonge koning Romualdo (Stuart). Het nieuws over haar vader, die door de Zwarte Heks (Nielsen) is ontvoerd, zorgt voor uitstel van het huwelijk. Romualdo vertrekt onmiddellijk naar het donkere koninkrijk om Fantaghir[KA2]o`s vader (Adorf) te bevrijden. Zonder dat Romualdo dat weet, begeeft Fantaghirò zich, nadat zij zich in mannenkleren heeft gehuld, met hetzelfde doel op pad. Als de Zwarte Heks Romualdo gevangen heeft genomen, zet zij een val voor het jonge paar. Fantaghirò slaagt erin haar jonge koning te bevrijden. Haar vader wordt ook bevrijdt, met de hulp van twee kinderen die over magische krachten beschikken. Deze film werd in het Tsjechoslowakije van vóór de breuk opgenomen. Goed opgezette productie met fraaie kostuums. De film is redelijk vermakelijk, maar het acteerwerk is niet uitzonderlijk.
